24 Professional Development Hours (PDH) are due on a triennial basis. The next license renewal is due 9/30/2020.
Of the 24 PDH required, (all may be taken online):
- 4 hours must be related to National Electrical Code changes
- 4 hours max may be taken in Safety topics related to the electrical industry
The Colorado State Electrical Board requires all courses must be pre-approved. RedVector is currently in the process of submitting coursework to the board for approval. Please check this site often or ask your Educational Advisor to advise you when we have an update.
Electricians may be required to take up to 24 hours of continuing education for their renewal. To determine the number of PDUs required, Residential Wireman, Journeyman Electricians, and Master Electricians must take the Colorado Continuing Competency Assessment (CCA) given by the state online (within 2 months of the renewal period). Once you have completed the CCA, the Board will advise you how many hours and which of the Core Subject Areas must submit on your next renewal.
Note: Minimum required hours for each topic will depend on CCA requirements.
